QR TO BRICK Model guide

Bonsai QR code model

A bonsai your guests can scan. Small footprint. Living silhouette.

Shape a working QR code as a compact bonsai with a brown trunk, clipped green canopy, and brick-red pot. The model and selected ground cells share the QR projection to keep the part count practical.

Why this form works

A compact display piece with a readable top view.

The bonsai profile concentrates height near the center, so the side view reads as a miniature tree while the dark and light top surfaces remain aligned to the QR matrix. Decorative leaves sit below the scan plane.

Form

The trunk and pot stay visible from the side.

A tapered reddish-brown trunk rises from a low ceramic pot. Offset branches carry clipped foliage pads instead of forming a solid QR wall, giving the model the asymmetry of a trained bonsai.

Scan design

The top plane stays disciplined.

Only surfaces that belong to the QR projection reach the scan plane. Leaves and shaping details stay below it, while open modules can be completed by the ground to reduce unnecessary columns.

Build package

Everything needed to move from preview to parts.

After checking the Top / QR view, download the free layer-by-layer PDF, general parts CSV, and LEGO Pick a Brick upload CSV with official element IDs and quantities.

Build sequence

From QR content to finished bonsai.

  1. Add the destination

Enter a short link or message and keep the default high error correction.

  2. Tune the silhouette

Adjust height and compare 3D, top, and side views before downloading.

  3. Scan, order, assemble

Verify the top view with a second device, then use the free files to source and place the parts.

Bonsai model FAQ

Practical answers before you build.

Does the bonsai canopy contain the whole QR code?
Not necessarily. In the recommended Form + ground mode, the raised bonsai surfaces and selected ground cells combine into one QR projection.
Will decorative leaves block the scan?
Leaf details are placed below the flat QR cap. Keep them in the instructed positions and always scan the finished model to confirm.
Can I change the bonsai height?
Yes. The height control changes the relief and estimated part count while preserving the same top projection.
Are the bonsai instructions free?
Yes. The PDF construction guide and both CSV parts files are free to download.
